Description
You can change the default behavior by going to Finder, Preferences and under Advanced you have When performing a search start in the current folder, the entire Mac, or the previous search scope. So instead of being in the current folder it's wherever you searched last. So you can set it to one of these. But no matter which one you have it set at you're best bet is to go to some sort of top level like your Documents folder or your Home folder and start a search from there just to make sure you cover all your bases.
My only complaint is that I access Tembo from my Dock, and if you pin it to your dock and rename it something like “Tembo - File Search” something I do to help others when they need to access files from my Mac, the app won’t launch! Other apps renamed in the dock work fine, but I have to use Command+Space Bar to type in Tembo to get it to launch if I change the app’s filename. Any chance of a fix houdah?

My Knowledge Management Process with PDF Files - Part 2 (13th March 2012) Use regular expressions to filter search results Mac OS X: Many of Apple's updates to its Spotlight search have been useful, but many (including myself) miss the simplicity of search in previous generations of the OS. Tembo brings back that simplicity to making finding your files easier. If this is all Tembo did, it would essentially be “Tiger’s Spotlight in Snow Leopard.” But click the arrow icon next to a group, and you discover the program’s hidden power: many more options for sorting and filtering just that group of search results. For starters, you can view results in icon view or list view, with list view adding the capability to sort by name, date modified, or size. But the most useful feature for me is that, in either view, you can use new filtering options to further whittle down your search results to find exactly what you’re looking foor. For example, you can filter messages by subject, sender, and recipient; documents by file type (Alias, Word, Pages, Rich Text, Zip, and so on); images by type and resolution; PDFs by author; Safari bookmarks by type (bookmark or history item) and domain; music by file type and artist; video by file type and codec—you get the picture. Although it’s possible to do most of this in Spotlight without Tembo, it’s neither easy nor fun. Tembo is as close to fun as I’ve had using Spotlight. * The Recent Files menu will show all recent documents in apps that don’t have a native document type (like Trello) Keyboard shortcuts to duplicate search criteria When I click on the "folders" tab for example to see the results- it goes blank instead of showing me any the results, even though it says "710 results" in the top left corner. Even when I then click the "back" button- it doesn't work. So something is 100% definitely wrong with the program running in OS 10.13.2 Tembo still has a few rough spots, but it’s a beta—I’m looking forward to seeing it mature into a 1.0 product. The developer says the final version of Tembo is “headed to the Apple App Store,” and that seems like a great fit, considering that Tembo aims to do for Spotlight what the App Store wants to do for Mac software: make it easier to take full advantage of your Mac.
